Papers plan for Brown-out

It’s 3.20 pm and there have been no more resignations, which is progress of sorts for Downing Street.  But are Labour MPs are merely waiting for the polls to close? According to The Evening Standard’s Paul Waugh just now: ‘Word in Westminster is that at 10pm tonight, when the polls close, a Cabinet minister will quit.’

 The chance that Brown will jump before he is pushed is now becoming a real possibility.

Some newspapers are already planning how they will cover a Brown resignation next week.  Writers have been assigned their subject matters. Pieces on Brown’s economic legacy and how he spent 13 years wanting the top job are already being worked  up…
