Local Government Association gets Tory lobbyist

Everyone else is at it, and now the Local Government Association has brought in a Tory to head up its lobbying work ahead of the next general election.  

Iain Wilton joins from lobbying consultancy Quintus. He may not be part of Dave’s gang, but his Tory credentials are clear: back in the 1990s he was a special adviser to Michael Howard and William Waldegrave. Full story has just gone up on the PR Week website.

Wilton will have his work cut out over the next few months. The Tories have promised to give power back to local communities, but as Caroline Spelman says: ‘It’s not just about empowering local government…’
