Lobbyists are ‘notoriously fickle’ claims Tory MP

Douglas Carswell has just blogged about ‘lobbyists’ attitudes to politicians’. But the post perhaps reveals more about politicans’ attitudes towards lobbyists.

Carswell says: ‘Lobbyists, like senior civil servants and quangocrats, are notoriously fickle.  Ever sensitive to which way the political breeze is blowing, they’ll sidle-up to whoever they think is going to win – all the while trying to maintain a look of “above-it-all” disinterest.’

Ouch! But who is this rather unflattering depiction based on?

Hands up anyone who’s been lobbying Douglas recently…
