Weber Shandwick eyes up Tories to replace Prezza

Strike a light! Weber Shandwick’s public affairs and corporate affairs chief Michael Prescott is packing his bags.

The former Sunday Times politcal editor is off to be group communications director at BT, taking over from his old pal Peter Morgan.

Wonder if he’ll pull the plug on those annoying adverts….

News of Prezza’s shock departure comes days after Weber Shandwick boss Colin Byrne, a former Labour press chief, promoted former Tory staffer Tara Hamilton-Miller to be vice president of the public affairs practice…

With the agency’s other top Tory,  Priti Patel, is set to be an an MP in a matter of months, the word on the street is that Byrne is determined to  ensure that the gap left by Prezza is filled by some serious Tory talent
